Creephouse Jams 08/09/2013

Greetings Creeps!

This week was filled with mostly new releases.  There have been some excellent new albums out this summer and it is hard for me to tear myself away from some.  This week I reached a critical point in life where I am mere megabytes away from maxing out my 160gb iPod.  I think I may have a problem.  Good thing that with todays modern technology I can listen to music on numerous devices and not have to rely on just my iPod.  Could you imagine having the equivalent of 160gb of music in cds?  That sounds like craziness to me.  Anywho, the playlist:

Argyle Goolsby – Under the Witness Stars EP

I am so glad that Goolsby is still making music in the wake of Blitzkid’s demise.  The good horror punk bands are few and far between and without Blitzkid there was a big hole left in the genre.  Still sounds like Blitzkid which is fine with me.

Watain – Sworn to the Dark & Watain – Lawless Darkness

Any day now the new Watain album will be released into the world.  Despite everything I have read and heard about this album it is still one of my most highly anticipated releases of the year.  I was feeling the ache so I blasted two of my favorite albums of theirs.  Pummeling satanic Black Metal.

Marduk – Heaven Shall Burn… When We Are Gathered

I love this early second wave Black Metal stuff with the grim production and classic satanic messaging.  For some reason Marduk’s Heaven Shall Burn… seems like it would fit in well with an old Hammer film or a re-scoring of Dracula.  They seem to have lost this style a little over the years but their older stuff is some of my favorite Black Metal.

Mammoth Grinder – Underworlds

Sometimes what you need is a 28 minute dose of death metal infused grindcore crusted up.  If that is the case take one of Mammoth Grinder’s Underworlds and call me in the morning.

Dionysus – Sign of Truth

There haven’t been very many good power metal releases this year so to get my epic fix I have to go with some older stuff.  The singer of Dionysus worked with Luca Turilli on his solo stuff so that was all I needed to know to check this out.  Epic, soaring power metal at it’s finest here.

Carcass – Surgical Steel

Guy Clark – Somedays the Song Writes You

Michale Graves – Lost Skeleton Returns

Ereb Altor – Fire Meets Ice

Gorguts – The Erosion of Sanity

Lantern – Below

Lipstick Homicide – Out Utero

Witherscape – The Inheritance

Marduk – Opus Nocturne

Thy Light – No Morrow Shall Dawn

Vallendusk – Black Clouds Gathering

Sauroctonos – Our Cold Days Are Still Here When the Lights Are Out

Violator – Scenarios of Brutality

Shroud Eater – Dead Ends

Agrimonia – Rites of Seperation

Alda – Tahoma

Wandersword – Waiting for War

Mumakil – Flies Will Starve

Anathema – Judgement

Battlesoul – Tir Na Nog

Dionysus – Sign of Truth

The Howling Wind – Vortex
