Again an article over at nocleansinging.com consumed most of my listening this week. Readers were offering up there best of 2013 metal so far and like always there was tons of stuff I hadn’t heard, was meaning to hear or just completely spaced. I spent most of the week tracking down some of the albums and digging into them. This is almost a daily occurrence for me now, finding some new or lost metal gem and having it dominate my earphones for the rest of the day. With that being said here is this weeks playlist:
I’m not sure what is in the water up there but Canada has been kicking out some awesome metal as of late. A mix of folk metal, melodic death, black metal, thrash metal this album is determined to get your heart racing.
Some melodic folky black metal left in the wake of the untimely demise of Woods of Ypres frontman. I need to to check out the first album that was pre David Gold’s death but this new one is solid.
I have been a casual Rotting Christ fan but this new album of theirs is really great. It is more of a melodic approach to black metal with some amazing guitar work.
What happens when you take 3 members of Abercocke and let them start another band? You get a similar awesomely pounding slab of black metal.
When I want to crank it up and blast my stupid face off there are few better prescription than a dose of Kreator. Voices of the Dead will send you into overdrive.
