Greetings Creeps!

Looks like our pal Fausto is making his move finally. Looks like Wilmer is too…

I realize there has been a lack of updates on the Creephouse Comics side of things. I assure you there a big things in store and I’m busting my hump over here to try and get everything done in time for Denver Comic Con. We’ll be debuting the first issue of The Haunter, some new prints and hopefully the full anthology of Never Send a Monster. Holy cripes! That’s creeptastic! I know! Bear with us dear reader. This is the year of the creep!

Until next week…

Greetings Creeps,

This week I decided I was going to try and listen to more Doom metal and try to gain a greater appreciation of the genre I don’t spend to much time with. I like some of the better known doom acts, Candlemass, Sleep, Electric Wizard, the Peaceville stuff, but I don’t feel like I’ve really delved into it. So with that in mind I asked for some recommendations and set off down the gloomy path heading deep into the doom forest.  I still have a lot to get through so the doom journey will likely carry over into next week.

This week also saw some tremendous new releases. The Great Old Ones continue their black metal love letter to Lovecraft with Tekeli-Li. Dark Descent Records are killing it this year in the ways of death and black metal. Thantifaxath’s Sacred White Noise is...

Looks like ol’ General Clifton had a little more fight left in him. Now that he’s good and dead, the gang has some bigger fish to fry…

Sorry for the missed post last week. I was off on a glorious adventure to Iceland with amazing lady. It was an epic adventure and one that needs repeating. Never fret though, the metal did not stop even 3,000 miles away. I made a special playlist chalk full of Icelandic metal bands just for the journey. I’ll post that list below for those curious listeners. Iceland has some great bands held up in it’s tiny frozen core.

Since I’ve been back there has been an ONSLAUGHT of tremendous new music for me to catch up on. This has been a dizzying week  in terms of quality and content as the metal machine seems determined to crack the earth in half under it’s awesome weight. I was not disappointed with a single release I obtained this week...

Sorry for the missed posts last week. TLZ still went up as usual on the main site. I was on vacation in Iceland so couldn’t directly post here.

Anywho… The secret weapon is finally revealed!

Greetings Creeps,

This week was a gut punch for metal fans as Davie Brockie, otherwise known as Oderus Urungus, lead singer of Gwar and Scumdog supreme passed away. Gwar has been a huge part of my musical life since I was a teenager (I even have a Gwar tattoo) and this planet is worse off without him. Suffice to saw, Gwar took up a good majority of this weeks playlist. RIP Dave.

There was a couple of interesting new releases this week. Most notably for me was Cormorant’s Earth Diver. More on them in a second. I also got the new comeback album Back From Beyond by death metal-ers Massacre, Thou’s much praised Heathen and Gamma Ray’s new cheese-fest Empire of the Undead.

Next week I will be on a much needed vacation and will be visiting Iceland...

This week provided a fairly reasonable of impressive new releases. I spent most of the week delving into these until Rolling Stone started streaming the new Chuck Ragan album Till Midnight which as expected, took over the later half of the week. Aside from the new Chuck Ragan I got my hands on Teitanblood’s  Death, Sargeist’s  Feeding the Crawling Shadows, Fluisteraars’s  Dromers, Dodsferd’s The Parasitic Survival of the Human Race, Barbarian’s Faith Extinguisher, and  Cara Neir’s The Overwatch EP.

Spring is upon us now and my listening habits will probably shift a bit. I have seasonal favorites for each season. I’m not sure why but I just seem to equate some albums with different times of the year. The first one of those season albums is I’s Between Two Worlds...

Fausto’s horde are quite the persistent zombie army weirdos aren’t they? These Zombie Queen walls weren’t going to stand forever.

There’s some big things a brewing up in our cauldron. I know it’s been quiet on the comics front but soon there will be tons of updates and (gasp) art! Stay tuned boils and ghouls.

Until next week…

Greetings Creeps!

Sorry I missed last weeks playlist update. I caught some sort of ancient plague released from the darkest depths of the earth and it knocked me out of commission for a couple days. Since I missed last week, this weeks playlist will consist of two weeks of jams. Holy metal Batman!

I got ahold of a couple new releases these past two weeks. The major one being the new Twilight album III: Beneath Trident’s Tomb. I have to say I was disappointed in it. I knew Thurston Moore’s involvement would be evident and I’m not sure if it’s his fault, lack of previous members or what but I found it barely listenable. Too much of that noise Thurston is famous for, which for me is the main reason I’ve never been a fan of Sonic Youth. I also procured the new Vindensång Alpha and the new...
